Mike Arrington has posted that Google is soon to be launching a new music service.

That’s no way for an already terrified and digitally haunted record industry executive to wake up and start their day!

Actually, according to Mike’s post, Google is playing nice with the record industry and has been “securing content the launch of the service from the major music labels.”

That’s always the way it starts out with Google, huh?

Then, you watch as your business model gets razed over like a bad dream straight out of a Clayton Christensen tome.

The new service will be called “Google Audio.”

I think some classic Talking Heads is in order (with just a tad bit of revisionism):
