		<description><![CDATA[Of course, it&#039;s worth observing that that number of people watching on YouTube who were really &quot;developers&quot; - and the nature of the announcements themselves - skew the comment about how impressive the numbers were. Google I/O, like WWDC and other &quot;developer conferences&quot;, has become a stage for Google to announce important new innovations and set their direction for the year to come. Agree that this was impressively staged, and it&#039;s nice to see them showing some leadership rather than playing catch-up. Also interested in what was NOT announced - rumours of an IaaS cloud platform don&#039;t seem to have come to fruition, and Android@Home was notably absent too.]]></description>
